In the meantime, I have attached a preliminary version
of the SLOWPC program which I would like you to try.

Please unpack SLOWPC.ZIP to obtain SLOWPC.COM and
place that program on your boot diskette.

Before running the communications program, please
execute the command: SLOWPC P=500

This will take a few seconds to calibrate, and should
slow your PC considerably - if it is still not slow
enough, try lower values (P=250 etc.) You can update
the value by running SLOWPC again, you do not have to
reboot to change the value.

Note that if you specify a P= value that is too low,
the PC may "lock up" requiring a reboot to recover.

Also note that this program works under a DOS boot
disk - It will NOT work if executed under Windows.

If this does not work for you, please reply to me
with the performance numbers indicated by the program
when you run it the first time (after reboot), and the
details of the system you are trying to use it with
(CPU type and speed).

Regards,
Dave Dunfield
